			<description><![CDATA[<p>
	Austin and I have known each other since our first assignment, HMM-163 in July 1961 in Santa Anna, CA.&nbsp; The Squadron spent a year together training to go overseas and as a unit in August 1962 where we entered as the second Marine Squadron in Vietnam.&nbsp; We moved from the southern part to Da Nang in Sept.and remained there until Jan. 1963 when we were based in the Philippines and mostly aboard a helicopter aircraft carrier.&nbsp; I was one of three roommates.&nbsp; Bill Waters, also a flight training classmate, Austin and myself roomed together in Vietnam and aboard ship and the Philippines.&nbsp; We had great times and had some flights together.&nbsp; Austin was a very good pilot and felt right at home in an aircraft.&nbsp; I will never forget Austin and he was a great friend.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

			<title>Condolence From John McFarland</title>

			<description><![CDATA[Austin was a true gentleman and an outstanding pilot. I only met him once and we spent 5 days together back in 1986. I was a young Republic Airlines pilot upgrading to captain and Austin flew with me for those 5 days as part of the required IOE (Initial Operating Experience). I remember he was helpful and made me feel very much at ease. He eventually signed me off as qualified to carry passengers as a captain...it was my first checkout and I always remembered Austin and what a great guy he was...I wanted to be as professional as him. I am so very sorry to hear he had Parkinson’s and passed as a result (my father did likewise). I will remember both he and his family in my prayers.]]></description>			<category>Condolences</category>
